END OF SEASON ANNOUNCEMENTS

Trophy distribution will IY”H take place this Sunday, June 23^rd. Due to popular demand and to accommodate many schedules, we will be switching from our planned mid-day pizza party to donuts in the morning, from 9:00-10:00am in the YIWH Kiddush Room. We look forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to the 3rd/4th grade boys champion Yellow team, and to coaches Avrumie Kahn, Richie Grossman and Aaron Trauring!

This has been a great season, filled with well-played games and achdus. As the summer nears and the season comes to a close, the final games will be played this Sunday. For most grade levels the games will be similar to all other weeks; for the 3^rd/4^th grade boys, they will be playing their playoff games and then their championship game. On Sunday, June 23^rd, we are planning an end-of-season pizza party and trophy distribution – stay tuned for details!

NEWS AND SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 21ST

After a great Opening Day, we look forward to Sunday’s games… the all-new WHS caps are in, and possibly the T-shirts as well! Please note that based on feedback from the coaches and parents, the 1^st/2^nd grade boys are being revised into two teams and a new format: each week will begin with approximately ½ hour skills training, followed by one full game between the teams. Also, we will be starting the second-shift boys’ games at 3:00 rather than 3:15, to allow more time for the games and so they do not run too late.

The following is the schedule for all teams for Sunday, April 21^st. Please note that Field #1 is the field closest to Hempstead Avenue, and Field #2 is the field closest to the parking lot:

UPDATE AND SCHEDULE FOR OPENING DAY, APRIL 14th

Following last week’s posts, Opening Day has been moved to this Sunday, April 14^th. Based on additional registrations received this week, we may be able to add teams at one or more of the grade levels that currently has less than four teams. This may also change up the weekly schedule a bit, to accommodate more games. However, we are still working through that process, and so this Sunday please come to the Cornwell School field (corner of Cornwell Ave. and Hempstead Ave., entrance on Cornwell) at the following times, which are 15 minutes before game time except for kindergarten:

Kindergarten: 10:30

Boys 1^st/2^nd grades: 3:00

Boys 3^rd/4^th grades: 1:15

Boys 5^th/6^th/7^th grades: 3:00

Girls 3^rd/4^th/5^th grades: 10:15

URGENT UPDATE - OPENING DAY POSTPONED

Due to a last-minute conflict with a Mets game that will be attended by most of HANC Elementary, Opening Day is postponed until Sunday, April 14th. In the interim, registrations are still being accepted. Please e-mail yiwhlittleleague@hotmail.com with any questions.
